It was frustrating and stressful, but I made my way step-by-step.

I started my first business on the side while working a full-time job. I’d make a little progress one week, only to feel stuck again the next.

I wasted money on advertising campaigns that didn’t work. I spent hours at networking events hoping to find clients, but nothing clicked. I’d stress every month about whether I could cover my bills.

And yet, I kept going. Day by day, year by year, I pieced it together. I landed my first client, then my first repeat client. I started figuring out what worked.

Eventually, I went full-time with my business, managed my cash flow with confidence, and even built systems that allowed me to focus on the things I loved most.

As I grew, I realized something: the struggles I faced weren’t unique. Over the years, I’ve worked with hundreds of aspiring entrepreneurs who all had the same frustrations.

They had big dreams and incredible skills but felt completely overwhelmed by the “business side” of things. The advice they found online was either too generic, disconnected, or just plain wrong. They didn’t need empty promises of overnight success; they needed practical, actionable guidance from someone who’d been in their shoes.

So now I’ve spent over 11 years helping people turn their ideas into real businesses. At first as a lawyer and accountant, then a business coach, and eventually as a business professor.
